This section includes training in Reiki, Healing Touch, Therapeutic Touch and other modalities that take place in our region. Only Reiki I dates are included in the Calendar. There are links for more information to those with a Private Practice in the area.

Usui Reiki I - Sat. Sep. 20, 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Classroom: Building AST D213. Cost: $150.

Usui Reiki II - Sat. Aug. 9 or Oct. 18, 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Classroom: Building AST D213. Cost: $150.

Usui Reiki III/Master - Sat. Sep. 6 or Dec. 13, 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Cost: $150.

Many of Dory’s training sessions are private and are tailored around the specific and individual needs of the student or small group. Dory is a nationally certified Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), body-centered psychotherapy, pastoral counselor, energy therapist and trainer, and Certified Spiritual Healer. She is Editor/Publisher of The Door Opener. Dory has been teaching both Usui Reiki as well as Karuna Reiki® for those who wish to deepen, specify and fine-tune their healing focus since 1998. She was also a teacher at the Institute of Healing Arts and Sciences for three years. She teaches many other spiritually based classes at various locations. Dory maintains her private practice in Collinsville, and also has office hours in Bloomfield. Call to schedule a class or session at (860) 693-2840.

Cathy Ewing-Rinker

Reiki I - Sat., September 13, 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

In this one day class you will be introduced to the history, theory and practice of REIKI and receive your attunement as a Level I Practitioner, allowing you to give healing to your self and others. Class size is limited; pre-registration is required. Cost: $125.00/class; $150.00, if you choose to purchase Reiki kit including manual, CDs, DVDs and Reiki cards. Reiki II - Sat., October 12, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Continue your study of REIKI, obtain your Level II attunement, and take your healing abilities to a deeper level, allowing you to do distant healing and utilize REIKI symbols in your healing practice. Class size limited; pre-registration required. Call Cathy to register by October 5. Investment: $125.00/class, $150.00 if you choose to purchase Reiki kit with manual, CDs, DVDs and Reiki cards.

Classes are taught by CATHY EWING-RINKER, RMT, LCSW, MDiv. of Spirit Matters. Her Private Practice includes psychotherapy and energy healing. Spirit Matters is a Holistic Healing Center in Ellington offering a wide variety of therapies, workshops and events dedicated to personal, community and global peace and healing.  Suzanne Feuerbach

Usui Second Degree Reiki - Fri.-Sat., August 22 & 23, Cost: $225

Second Degree Reiki is a continuation of the healing Art of Reiki with focus on intuitive, emotional, spiritual, and distance healing. Students will also be introduced to Reiki symbols that can be used during treatment. Completion of First Degree Reiki is required. Price includes all class materials, and a light lunch on Saturday.

Third Degree Reiki Practitioner - Fri.-Sat., October 24 & 25, Cost: $250

Third Degree students will learn advanced techniques for Auric clearing and patient dialog. Students will continue to learn an intuitive approach to the healing sessions. Completion of Second Degree Reiki is required. Price includes all class materials, and a light lunch on Saturday.

SUZANNE FEUERBACH is a native of Massachusetts. She became interested in Reiki after returning from a solo hike of over 1,000 miles on the Appalachian Trail. Suzanne is a graduate of Westfield State College and taught for several years. Currently, Suzanne is part of an Integrative Medicine Program at Hartford Hospital where she is a Reiki Practitioner at the Hartford Hospital Cancer Center. In 2004, she attained the level of Reiki Master/Teacher.

Becoming a Reiki practitioner enables you to channel healing energy to yourself, friends, family, and beloved pets. Perhaps it's time to answer a calling within you that desires to bring about healing or it may be time to continue the training you have already begun. Becoming attuned to this Divinely guided healing energy provides new opportunities for personal growth and discovery. There are no requirements to become a practitioner other than the desire to bring about healing to yourself, and others should you choose.

Usui Level 2 - Sat., July 19. 10 a.m. Cost: $175

Level 3/Advanced Practitioner - Tue./Thu., June 10 & 12. 5:30 p.m. Both dates required. Cost: $200

Master/Teacher - Scheduled to your convenience and is a private class. Cost: $500.

Classes are taught by DEB VEILLEUX, RMT of Woodfaeries and are held at her center in Vernon. Deb is a psychic medium, Reconnective Healer™, and Reiki Master Teacher. Her Private Practice includes Reconnective Healing™, The Reconnection™ groups, and Reiki treatments. Pre-registration and $25 deposit required no later than 1 week before class date.
