September 2007 Newsletter

Introducing Conscious CT

Welcome to a new website and monthly newsletter for those of you East of the River with an interest in all things holistic, spiritual, environmental or metaphysical. Our intention is to provide you with the information and resources you need to lead a healthier, happier, more conscious life. At the same time we hope to build a sense of the special community that we belong to and encourage you to get involved.

The towns we cover include most of Tolland County and Hartford County east of the river - from Glastonbury to Enfield, from East Hartford to Willington. It’s a nice size to focus on and there is a lot of activity.

On this website you’ll find events, classes and workshops, holistic health practitioners, environmental tips and resources, and other resources such as support groups, churches and organizations. And as we develop we plan to become more interactive with a blog, surveys, photo galleries and a bulletin board. A good way to get acquainted is to take a Tour of Conscious CT.

As this website is a reflection of our community we want to include photos of the people and events that make the community unique. Those you will currently find are a sample. When you 'refresh' the Cover and Home pages the pictures randomly change. We also want to include your photos so we invite you to email digital images you might like to see online. We will rotate photos monthly.

We hope you enjoy the website and share our excitement as to its possibilities for building community. If you do please forward this to friends in the area who might also be interested. If you prefer not to receive this mailing you can remove your name from our list below.

Your hosts: Jon Roe, Jean Egan, Leanne Peters

Activities

Conscious CT is divided into sections much like a community. In our Activities section you'll find what is going on in our region - Classes & Schools, Energy Training, Groups, Worship, and most importantly a calendar listing day by day activities. Clicking on any event in the calendar will pop up detail information.

Spotlight On The Door Opener

The Door Opener is Connecticut's leading resource for spirituality, holistic health and metaphysics; a quarterly magazine listing events and classes taking place in and around the state. It has been publishing since 1986, and on the web since 1996. While the heart of the magazine is the calendar and resource listings, each issue also focuses on a single theme and includes articles to acquaint the reader with groups, ideas or activities that may help in his or her healing or growth. In addition to the articles are news sections on happenings around the state, holistic health, mystical movies and spiritual ecology. Also included are special annual directories.

Conscious CT is affiliated with The Door Opener. Although we are a separate business focusing on just one region of the state, there are many activities and resources elsewhere that will be of interest to you.

The Fall issue of The Door Opener is now available in stores. The articles focus on Therapeutic Art. Regionally you can buy the magazine at Borders, Barnes & Noble, Garden of Light, Parkade Health Shoppe and many other stores.
